SOS Children's Villages Painting

I have recently completed a new painting called "Protection" in aid of SOS Children (see www.soschildren.org), the world's largest orphan charity.

The Dalai Lama called SOS Children "a charity where deeds speak louder than words" - and this is their very essence. They rescue orphaned and abandoned children in 123 countries, and give them a loving home with a foster mother and other "brothers and sisters" in one of over 470 villages. This allows each child to grow up in a family environment, make stable, loving relationships and have a family support network. Without these homes, these children would have no one.

I am passionate about this cause. My early life in Africa and the Middle East left an indelible mark. It allowed me to see just how disastrous it can be for vulnerable children to be orphaned or abandoned in countries where there is not enough infrastructure to properly care for them.

I am raising money for SOS Children by selling a limited edition of 60 A2 size (22"x15") signed and numbered giclee prints (each with their own certificate of authentication), and 50 signed giclee cards of the painting. All profits go to SOS Children.

I am an official watercolour tutor for Waterperry Gardens and their Art in Action Gallery in Oxfordshire - a wonderful place to paint and enjoy the stunning scenery and flowers. Due to my two little ones, I am only doing a few full teaching workshop days over the next year.
